Overview
The IEEE Senior Member Elevation Program is designed to recognize individuals who have demonstrated significant professional achievements and maturity in IEEE-designated fields. Senior Member is the highest grade for which IEEE members can apply, and candidates may either self-nominate or be nominated. To qualify, applicants must:
- Be engineers, scientists, educators, technical executives, or originators in IEEE-designated fields.
- Have at least ten years of professional experience, with some credit given for academic degrees.
- Show significant performance over a minimum of five years within their professional practice.
Application Process
There is no additional fee to apply, and successful applicants gain access to a range of benefits, including:
- Professional recognition from peers.
- Eligibility for leadership roles within IEEE.
- The ability to serve as a reference for other Senior Member candidates.
- Invitations to review panels for future Senior Member applications.
- A letter of commendation sent to their employer (upon request).
- A complimentary one-year membership in an IEEE Society.
- An engraved Senior Member plaque to commemorate the achievement.
