Overview
IEEE Region 6 Humanitarian Activities Committee supports humanitarian activities led by the IEEE Humanitarian Technology Board (HTB) Chaired by Grayson Randell. The committee is to coordinate and promote Tech4Good, EPICS in IEEE and initiatives like the Global Humanitarian Technology Conference (GHTC).
R6 Involvement
IEEE Region 6 actively supports humanitarian outreach by empowering members to use their technical expertise for social impact through initiatives like the IEEE Special Interest Group on Humanitarian Technology (SIGHT) and related projects that address sustainable development and community needs. Volunteers and local sections collaborate to identify project ideas, secure support, mentor teams, and publicize humanitarian outcomes, fostering partnerships that apply technology to real-world challenges. Region 6 also encourages participation in global and regional humanitarian efforts, helping engineers and students contribute solutions that benefit underserved communities.
