Eligibility
IEEE Membership: Nominees must be active IEEE Members in good standing residing within IEEE Region 6.
Nominees must meet at least one of the following criteria:
- Be a practicing pre-university teacher at any grade level between Kindergarten and Grade 12 (K–12).
- Actively collaborate as a mentor, assistant, or facilitator with one or more pre-university classes, schools, or youth programs.
- Nominees must directly teach, mentor students, or assist regular classroom teachers to promote mathematics, science, technology, and an appreciation of engineering (e.g., through TryEngineering, FIRST Robotics, Science Olympiad, MATHCOUNTS, or hands-on STEM workshops).
- Student & Classroom Impact: Breadth and depth of direct engagement with K–12 students, classes, or pre-university schools.
- STEM Program Quality & Innovation: Effectiveness and creativity of educational materials, hands-on engineering activities, or mentorship programs.
- IEEE Alignment & Outreach: Integration of IEEE educational resources (e.g., TryEngineering, STEM grants) and collaboration with local IEEE Sections, Chapters, or Student Branches.
- Sustained Volunteer Service: History of STEM educational outreach and relevant IEEE volunteer responsibilities fulfilled over the last five or more years.
